Toronto Free-Net
notes. |
it's a great idea but...
The Toronto Free-Net has been my great pride (and on occasion pain) for
quite some time now. Here is some material about the Toronto Free-Net,
it's origins and history.
I am still working on this, sorry...
Still a few points
- Early 1993 - Concept of doing a Toronto Free-Net formed at a meeting in Laine Ruus's office at the University of
Toronto based on other Free-Nets operating in the United States.
- Spring 1993 - I get involved with the Toronto Free-Net, starting out as co-chair of the Hardware-Software group
(they asked for volunteers...).
- November 1994 - the Toronto Free-Net opens to the public.

A human being should
be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog,
conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance
accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take
orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations,
analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a
tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is
for insects.
